North American F-100F-10-NA Super Sabre 56-3837 (MSN 243-113) to MASDC Sep 26, 1979 as FE607. Returned to service. To AMARC as FE0631 Feb 26, 1991. Conversion to QF-100F cancelled. To USAF Museum, OH Jun 18, 2002. This a ‘Misty’ FAC aircraft assigned to the 37th Tactical Fighter Wing at Phu Cat Air Base, Vietnam. It was flown in combat by several notable USAF figures, including Gen. Merrill McPeak and Gen. Ronald Fogleman (former USAF chiefs of staff), and Col. Richard Rutan (the chief pilot of the first around-the-world unrefueled flight).

On March 18, 1968, Capt. James "Ed" Risinger finished his Misty FAC tour in the F-100F that is on display at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force (S/N 56-3837). Capt. Risinger, holding a glass of champagne, celebrates his 58th and final mission. On the left is Capt. Brian Williams and inspecting bullet damage is Capt. Richard Rutan.
